LIFORA
A downloadable game for Windows and Android

Every month gives you a limited amount of time. Spend it exercising, studying, resting, socializing, or doing whatever else your current life allows.
Activities affect your stats, develop skills, influence relationships, and consume time — so choosing one thing can mean not having time for another.
We have successfully simulated being busy.
Running out of time does not stop the month from ending. We checked.
You may also spend your limited free time recovering energy so you can spend more time doing things that remove the energy again.
This is apparently what adults call a schedule.

People in LIFORA exist beyond the moment you interact with them. Relationships persist, change over time, remember interactions, and can influence activities and contextual events.
Spend time together, talk, call, give support, or apologize when you've inevitably done something stupid.
Ignoring someone for six months may negatively affect your relationship. Groundbreaking research.
People can remember how you've treated them instead of returning to factory settings every January.
Unfortunately, this means “they'll probably forget” is no longer a viable strategy.
And yes, your mother can be disappointed in you.
We considered removing this feature for realism, then realized it was extremely realistic.
Relationships take time to maintain.
Congratulations. We simulated another responsibility.

Browse available jobs, submit applications, get rejected, get hired, work, earn money, and build an employment history throughout your life.
Careers consume monthly time and energy while developing relevant skills and generating new situations and events. Your abilities and reputation can also influence whether employers actually want you.
Capitalism has arrived. Sincere apologies.
Applying for a job does not guarantee employment.
We briefly considered making every employer immediately hire you, but LinkedIn threatened legal action.
Once employed, you are expected to actually work.
This discovery devastated the development team.
The upside is that they give you money.
We are currently investigating why they don't simply give you the money without the first part.

What your character does gradually shapes what they're capable of doing.
Exercise develops Fitness. Learning develops Knowledge. Social activities develop Social skill. Work can improve abilities relevant to your career.
Those skills can then affect activities, events, careers, requirements, and your chances of succeeding at certain things.
Doing something repeatedly can make you better at it. Several years of my life were spent researching this discovery.
Higher skill can unlock opportunities that weren't available before.
Unfortunately, Level 10 Knowledge does not make everyone else less stupid.
Being qualified can improve your chances.
It still doesn't guarantee success. Very realistic.
You are technically allowed to become good at multiple things.
We have been informed some people call this “having hobbies.”

Your life doesn't happen in isolation. Contextual events can respond to your age, skills, relationships, career, stats, previous decisions, and things you've actually been doing.
Some decisions change the state future events respond to, meaning something you did months or years ago can eventually matter again.
Your life remembers things. Unfortunately.
Important moments are recorded in your history instead of disappearing into the void when you press Advance Month.
Deleting your browser history will not help.
Not every event will happen to every character because your circumstances determine what situations make sense.
We considered randomizing everything instead, but getting fired from a job you've never had felt slightly unreasonable.
And sometimes there isn't a correct choice.
Good luck. We believe in you. Sort of.

Well I didn't expect to be part of QA dept but your game shows promise I'll do what I can
Thanks! Really appreciate you testing it, especially the Android build since I couldn’t test it on physical hardware myself
And yeah, good catch on the typing cursor - I’ll improve its visibility in v0.2. If you run into anything else that feels broken, weird, or just annoying, feel free to let me know.
